Chapter 185 High-Energy Reactor Debris
Chapter 185 High-Energy Reactor Debris
"Su Chen! How is it?"
Zhao Gang arrived in a hurry with a team of awakened individuals.
Su Chen pointed to the rotten flesh on the ground:
"Look, he's dead."
"This guy has some kind of mental block; we couldn't get much useful information out of him."
"But one thing is certain: we're being watched."
Zhao Gang's eyes lit up as he looked at the still-smoking spaceship:
"This spaceship looks pretty good. Can we dismantle it and study it?"
"Do whatever you want, just don't blow up the base."
Su Chen waved his hand; he wasn't in the mood to worry about the hardware right now.
Upon returning to the East China Sea base, Su Chen immediately summoned Elder Long and Zhao Gang.
"We need to train our troops," Su Chen said bluntly.
"These surface defenses alone are no match for the enemy in the sky."
"We need to build a dedicated force for space operations."
Old Master Long frowned: "Space warfare? Xiao Su, we don't even have warships that can fly out of the atmosphere yet. How are we supposed to train these soldiers?"
"I'll figure something out about the warships." Su Chen turned to look at the Tyrant.
"Tyrant, how's the repair work on your two damaged Wotan frigates?"
The tyrant was somewhat embarrassed: "The energy core is broken, and the materials on Earth simply can't repair it. Unless we can find high-purity law crystals."
Su Chen laughed: "I have plenty of crystals. I want you to teach our people how to operate warships and how to fight in a vacuum."
The tyrant paused for a moment: "You want Earthlings to pilot our warships? That's against the rules."
"Rules are made by living people." Su Chen stared at him:
"Either teach me, or take your people and get off this earth. The choice is yours."
The tyrant sighed: "Fine, you win. But I must remind you, space combat demands extremely high levels of physical and mental strength."
"You ordinary awakened ones, going up there is just suicide."
"You don't need to worry about that." Su Chen looked at Zhao Gang:
"Starting tomorrow, we will select elites globally. Candidates must possess at least a B-level ability and have strong willpower."
"This unit is called the 'Star Shield Legion'."
The announcement of the selection process caused a global sensation.
Having struggled in the apocalypse for so long, everyone understands one thing:
Only by becoming stronger can we survive.
Su Chen sat in the monitoring room, looking at the thousands of registration forms.
He doesn't expect to find many ready-made geniuses.
He has the cheat code of bullet comments, which allows him to discover those "future giants" whose potential has not yet been awakened.
He entered the keywords in the bullet screen: 【Star Shield Legion】, 【Genius】.
Soon, several comments popped up.
"Tsk tsk, Su Chen is starting to build a space force."
"In his previous life, Shen Mo was buried at this time. If he could have joined the Star Shield Legion, Earth's warships would have been upgraded by at least two levels."
"Shen Mo? That guy nicknamed 'God of Machinery'? Isn't he still repairing radios in some small settlement right now?"
Su Chen's eyes lit up.
God of Machines?
That sounds interesting.
He immediately ordered the intelligence department to find a man named Shen Mo.
three days later
A young man who looked rustic and greasy was brought in front of Su Chen.
Shen Mo looked flustered, still clutching a half-disassembled engine in his hand:
"Um... Consultant Su, I haven't done anything wrong, have I? I just repair things and collect some grain; I've never cheated anyone."
Su Chen sized him up.
This kid looks ordinary; his ability detection is just the most basic "metal manipulation," with a rating of only D.
"Shen Mo, I heard you can fix anything?" Su Chen asked.
Shen Mo scratched his head: "Pretty much. As long as it has gears or circuits, I can tell what's wrong just by touching it."
Su Chen pulled out a part that he had just taken from the Infiltrator spaceship from his pocket.
He tossed it to Shen Mo: "Look at this thing, can it be fixed?"
Shen Mo took the parts, and his previously anxious expression instantly changed.
He stared at the part for a few seconds, then gently ran his finger across it.
"This thing has a really strange structure... the molecular arrangement is completely illogical. However, if we reconnect these energy circuits, it should be able to restore its function."
As he spoke, a faint gray light appeared on Shen Mo's fingers.
A few minutes later, the previously silent part began to emit a soft hum.
The tyrant's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets:
"This...how is this possible? This is a high-dimensional energy conduit; without a specialized nano-repair device, it's simply impossible to repair!"
Su Chen smiled, a bright and cheerful smile.
"Shen Mo, from today onwards, you are the chief mechanic of the Star Shield Legion. Food is plentiful, and you can dismantle any alien parts you like."
Shen Mo was stunned, still clutching the part in his hand: "Huh? Is it really all-you-can-eat?"
"Enough to fill you up." Su Chen patted his shoulder.
"However, you'll have to repair those two Wotan frigates for me first."
Su Chen was overjoyed, thinking, "I've struck gold!"
But at that moment, he noticed that the Law Perception Network was activated.
A faint, almost imperceptible ripple appeared in the center of the Pacific Ocean.
There was more than one infiltrator.
Su Chen sat in his office, with a holographic map in front of him.
A very faint blue dot is flashing in the center of the Pacific Ocean. This dot flickers, and if not looked at closely, it is barely perceptible.
I initially thought it was some kind of naturally occurring energy fluctuation.
"Interesting," Su Chen muttered to himself, staring at the spot.
The previous infiltrator flew in with great fanfare, like a decoy.
This one is clearly smarter, and also more dangerous.
It chose to plunge directly into the deep sea during the most intense part of the storm, almost in a self-destructive manner, using the shielding effect of the seawater to evade detection.
Su Chen didn't notify anyone; he decided to go and see for himself.
On the tarmac at the East China Sea base, a modified small aircraft is ready to go.
Shen Mo was squatting next to the landing gear, banging and tapping on a wrench in his hand.
"Advisor Su, are you really going alone? Although I've reinforced the outer shell of this spaceship, the pressure in the deep sea is too great. What if something happens..."
Shen Mo looked at Su Chen with a worried expression.
Su Chen jumped into the cockpit and smiled at him:
"Don't worry, the person in this world who can kill me hasn't been born yet. You focus on studying that frigate; I want to see your progress when you return."
The aircraft pierced the night sky and plunged into the torrential rain-soaked Pacific Ocean.
The closer you get to the target area, the more chaotic the fluctuations in the laws governing the sea surface become.
Su Chen could sense that something deep in the ocean was frantically absorbing the surrounding energy.
"Starry Sea Terminal, initiate deep-sea scanning."
[Scanning in progress... Depth 4500 meters... High-energy reactor debris detected... Unknown life signs detected... Fluctuation frequency matches the 'Prophet' sequence.]
Su Chen's heart sank. Another prophet.
